Retail trade and consumer products have a relatively large workforce. It is characteristic of the sector that the so-called performing workforce is very fast-moving, often changing, and tied to shifting schedules. In such cases, temporary employment agencies often assist companies in managing and coordinating the necessary workforce.
Managerial and expert-level personnel are traditionally well-trained, and well-known brands often receive numerous open applications from graduates of higher education institutions. The dynamics of labor mobility in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and durable goods companies are linked to economic cycles, as the trade in durable goods can be very cyclical.
Currently, Reactron's team consists of 15 passionate professionals, and their core values include principles such as transparency, caring, and people-centricity. Guided by these values, they create services for their customers of which they can be proud.
The IT industry faces a severe shortage of skilled workers, a challenge that affects virtually all companies in the sector, including Reactron. Reactron, with its focus on start-ups, boasts highly satisfied employees and a unique position among its competitors.
"For us, the employee experience is of paramount importance. We are an employer to many talented programmers, and it is vital for us that they enjoy their time here, succeed, learn, and develop," says Markus Holmström, CEO of Reactron.
In August 2022, Reactron and Rekrytointitalli initiated a partnership with the long-term goal of helping Reactron enhance its recruitment processes.
Reactron has ambitious growth targets, making it a natural choice to bring in an external sparring partner. Markus explains, "The employee experience begins with recruitment - or even before that, with the employer image. Although we receive high marks for job satisfaction, we wanted external assistance to further improve our recruitment process and employer image."
The collaboration's goal was clear from the outset. Mikko Kaikkonen, CEO of Rekrytointitalli, states, "Markus contacted me in the spring and shared Reactron's operational philosophy and growth vision, which are truly impressive. Our role was to help others—programmers in this case—see the same."
Rekrytointitalli serves as a partner in ELY's Business Development Services, which provides funding for projects like this, assisting growth companies in overcoming growth-related challenges. In this project, ELY played a significant role as the primary service provider.
Markus Holmström expresses, "We initiated a collaboration with Mikko Kaikkonen and Tina Dahlgren from Rekrytointitalli, where we address challenges related to recruitment and employer image. The journey has just begun but will continue and expand further. It's fantastic that we've found a similar, collaborative sparring partner."
As a tangible benefit, Reactron now has a "playbook" for developing its own recruitment processes and a sparring partner to further refine and expand their playbook.
Mikko Kaikkonen adds, "Working with Markus throughout the project was easy, enjoyable, and inspiring. It's no surprise that Reactron's job satisfaction is already very high, given the commitment of its leadership to the employee experience. Through our cooperation, Reactron will hopefully accelerate its growth plans."
Reactron Technologies is a young and growing software company founded in 2019. The company's mission is to act as a technology and growth partner for start-up and growth companies. At the moment, Reactron's team consists of 15 passionate professionals, and the core values of our operations are e.g. transparency, caring and people-centricity. Driven by these values, we create services for our customers that we can be proud of.
Rekrytointitalli Oy is a new-age recruitment consultancy company founded in 2014, focused on expert and management recruiting. Our operation is based on long-term customer development, in which our values of smart operation, fun work and expertise can be seen in our everyday operations.
There is a severe labor shortage of skilled workers in the IT sector, which can be seen in practically all companies in the industry, including Reactron. Reactron has very satisfied employees and a focus on start-ups that differs from its competitors.
"For us, the employee experience is of paramount importance. We are an employer of many talented programmers, and it is vital for us that we have fun, succeed, learn and develop," says Markus Holmström, CEO of Reactron.
Reactron and Rekrytointitalli started cooperation in August 2022 with the long-term goal of helping Reactron develop its own recruitment activities.
Reactron's growth goals are ambitious, so bringing in an external sparring partner was a natural choice. "The employee experience already starts with recruitment - or actually even before that, with the employer image. Even though we get top marks for job satisfaction, we wanted someone from the outside to help us become even better with the recruitment process and employer image."
The goal of the cooperation was clear from the beginning. Mikko Kaikkonen, CEO of Rekrytointitalli: "Markus called me in the spring and told me about Reactron, his own operating philosophy and Reactron's growth vision, which are absolutely wonderful. Our job was to help other people – in this case, programmers – to see this."
Rekrytointitalli is a partner in ELY's Business development services, which for its part finances projects like this, where growth companies are helped in bottlenecks in their own growth. Thus, in this project as well, ELY was the main service payer.
"We started a collaboration with Mikko Kaikkonen and Tina Dahlgren from Rekrytointitalli, where we tackle the challenges related to recruitment and employer image. The journey has only begun, but it will continue and will expand even further. It's very nice that we have found a similar, good-natured sparring partner," says Markus Holmström.
As a tangible benefit, Reactron now has a "playbook" on how to develop its own recruitment and a sparring partner with whom to monitor and develop beyond the playbook.
Mikko Kaikkonen: "Working with Markus throughout the project was easy, fun and inspiring. That's why I'm not surprised that Reactron's job satisfaction is already at very high levels, when the management is so committed to the employee experience. With our cooperation, Reactron will hopefully be able to put the next gear in the eye in terms of its growth plans."

The Recruitment Team offers a variety of solutions in the retail and consumer goods sectors. In most cases, we are involved in managerial or expert-level recruitment, for which our typical assignments involve advertisement searches or hybrid searches combining advertisement searches with headhunting. We provide a 12-month recruitment guarantee for our placements.
It is also quite typical in the industry that potential candidates undergo an aptitude assessment, for which we use the MPA tool. This tool allows us to assess the fit of the new person in the team and support onboarding. Find out more about our range of services and pricing here.
We have conducted recruitments for the following companies, among others: Ruohonjuuri, Imperial Brands
Reactron Technologies is a young and growing software company founded in 2019, with a mission to act as a technology partner and support growth for startups and growing companies. In collaboration with the Recruitment Team, they have addressed challenges related to recruitment and employer branding.
